This policy explains what the Recco app collects, why, who it is shared with and how you can delete it. It applies to the Recco app on Android and iOS and to this website.

In short: your library is private unless you choose to share it. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads and we don't track you across other apps or websites. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, from the app or from this page.

What other people can see

Who we share data with

We never sell personal data. We use these service providers to run Recco:

To show titles, our server looks things up in public catalogues (TMDB, JustWatch via TMDB, OMDb, Open Library, Google Books, Deezer, Steam, RAWG, MusicBrainz). These requests contain search text and title IDs, not your name, email or account.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account and everything linked to it are deleted from our live database immediately. Encrypted backups are kept for up to 7 days and then overwritten. Guest accounts that are never used again may be removed.

Your rights

You can access and correct your data in the app, export your history by importing it elsewhere, and delete everything at any time. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or Morocco's law 09-08), you also have the right to object, restrict processing, get a copy of your data and complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any right, email reccotheapp@gmail.com or use the support page.

We rely on our contract with you to provide the app, and on your consent for optional things like notifications, which you can switch off at any time in the app or your phone settings.

Children

Recco is for people aged 13 and over. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Deleting your account

In the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. Without the app: delete your account here.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
